“Granny Smith” — we want to create her into a “Respectable Gentleman’s Lounge.” This would come complete with your choice of bourbon or whisky locker, including snifters and cigars. Plush is the aim.

We like the idea of Chesterfield sofa-style upholstery in oxblood red or tan for the back-row bench seat, as well as bomber-style front bucket seats.

The plan is to naturally go through every mechanical function, inspect absolutely everything, and give her a fresh, brand-new look.

The look we have in mind is how she got her name. “Granny Smith” is her full respective name. All trim pieces — all the galvanized structure — could be either high-gloss silver, tan, or gold.

To really set off those trim and capping pieces, we would like to also hydro-dip them all with a transparent burl-walnut pattern. The gold powder-coated piece would come through nicely, ghosted with the walnut. We would like to extend this technique to the dashboard, gauge-cluster panels, and any other accents — possibly even the rims and bumpers if so desired.

The front seats could be aluminum bucket “Bomber” style. The back: the Chesterfield sofa / bench.

Being a short bed and long full cabin, it would be ideal for heavy wet gear outside and the family covered up inside. We do wish to build an aluminum-pipe “roll cage” and fabricate a soft / canvas top over the bed, in either tan or dark red. (And believe me, I know what quality canvas work is, having worked on the very best private sailing yachts of the world for half my life. I have very clear and clever ideas to make it tight and tidy, functional and simple.)

Granny Smith is right-hand drive at the moment. We can leave it this way or change to left-hand drive if you like. I personally never see an issue either way in functionality or driveability on or off road, so this is entirely up to you.

Of course we welcome all directions of artistic and unique personality you wish to convey to us, and we would love to brainstorm up a ride you will be proud of. Enjoy.
